JSHS CONDUCTED CLASS PRESENTATION OF GRADE-II ON RECIPROCAL TEACHING(03.02.17)

Teach me and I’ll remember :Involve me and I’ll learn.

Keeping the promise of remaining the leader in the academic field, Jesus’ Sacred Heart School organized a class presentation on ‘Reciprocal Teaching’ for grade II in the smart classrooms of the school. As  effective learning comes from integrating technology as a learning tool, students came up with innovative ways of teaching by using audio- visual aids, charts, PPTs, models and varied  activities. The parents were on the top of the world to see their scholars turning into teachers and confidently presenting their topics which were selected from their designed curriculum. They prepared the lesson plans under the able  guidance of their promising teachers.

The shift from an instructor-centered approach to a student-centered approach is a central component of the reciprocal teaching process and it encourages self-regulation on the part of the students. Moreover, these strategies encouraged the students to think about their own thought processes during interactive teaching sessions. It was worth watching budding scholars giving presentation with apt and their cognitive and verbal skills also got enhanced. A kind of contentment could be witnessed on the beaming faces of the spectators who must be feeling blessed to be a part of the prestigious institution.
