LIKE FLOWERS, STUDENTS BLOOM IN SPIRIT OF BASANT PANCHMI IN JSHS (02.02.17)

Spring is in air, fresh blossoms everywhere.

“Basant Panchmi” is an occasion which marks the advent of the spring season and is also celebrated to worship Goddess Saraswati. This day was celebrated in our school on 2nd February 2017 with great fervor and enthusiasm. The whole school assembled together to pray and attain blessings from Goddess Saraswati to reach the epitome of knowledge. The children of the Pre – Primary wing came dressed in yellow clothes, offered yellow colored flowers to the Goddess. The senior students enjoyed the activity ‘exotic food’ wherein they brought the material from home and and shared with their friends to mark the day. Yellow rice and prasad was served to the senior school as the yellow colour is of special importance during this day as it is the colour of the energy giving Sun and also representative of spiritual knowledge. Students of grade V distributed candies, presented crowns and bands to boys and girls of grade I-IV.   The corridors of the school wore a festive look with the Rangolis made by teachers of grade V. The kite-flying activity was organized for students of the pre-primary and primary classes. Girls of grade V wore yellow tiaras on their head and presented a beautiful poem on theme of Basant Panchmi.  The kite-flying activity was organized for students of pre-primary and primary classes.  It was indeed a memorable day for the students.
