Jesus’ Sacred Heart School, DX-1 South City, Ludhiana, hosted the CBSE Cluster XVIII Basketball Tournament with grandeur, attracting over 60 girls’ teams and 100 boys’ teams from across the Punjab and Jammu & Kashmir region. The event commenced with a lamp lighting ceremony by Director Pawandeep Singh, Principal Kirti Sharma, and school management members. A vibrant march past followed, showcasing participating teams’ unity and discipline, synchronized to the school band’s rhythmic beats. This was succeeded by an invocation to Lord Ganesha in a captivating dance performance. The athletes then pledged to uphold sportsmanship and fair play through an oath-taking ceremony, followed by a symbolic torch ceremony, igniting the spirit of competition. Director Pawandeep Singh formally declared the CBSE Cluster XVIII Basketball Tournament open, emphasizing the importance of teamwork, excellence, and sportsmanship in his welcome address he also expressed his thanks to CBSE for entrusting JSHS for conduction of the mega event. The tournament featured U-14, U-17, and U-19 categories for girls and boys, promoting holistic development through intense basketball matches.
