JESUS’ SACRED HEART SCHOOL MARKED THE GRAND OPENING OF ‘G. S MEMORIAL’(14.10.16)

The campus of Jesus` Sacred Heart School was filled with zeal,   excitement and frolicsome atmosphere on 14th October, 2016 as the School celebrated the first day of its Annual G. S Memorial inter-school event. More than 2500 students of Grade I-V from Schools across the city participated to exhibit their dazzling and daredevil display of activities encompassing sports, cultural and academic events. This multi-event extravaganza is an inter-school Kids Festival designed  for all school students of Grades I-V.   It has been a huge success since the last five years and has garnered appreciation from all big schools in and around Ludhiana.

The opening ceremony included March Past by participating teams, Flag hoisting and Oath taking ceremony. The chief guest of day was Chairperson Mrs. Amarjit Kaur Sehgal.  The Director of the school, Mr. Pawandeep Singh Sehgal and Mr. Ramandeep Singh Sehgal took salute from the marching contingents of various schools.  He told the students that he would like these cultural exchanges to become a regular feature at the campus of Jesus` Sacred Heart School.

The cultural Festival started by seeking the blessings of Lord Ganpati through vandana dance performed by the students of Jesus` Sacred Heart School which was a treat to the eyes of the spectators.  It was followed by outdoor activities like races,long jump,shotput and relay race.The another treat to the eyes was an innovative exhibition that showcased  the glimpses of heavenly earth .

 

The indoor events were Spell Bee, Rack your Brain, Peer Tutors to bring awareness regarding modern teaching techniques.  The students displayed a wide array of colourful and reverberant events.
The stage activities comprised of River of Words-a poetry competition and last but not the least, a heart throbbing Qawwali which filled the auditorium with a huge round of applause.   The Prize distribution was done by the Chairperson of School Mrs. Amarjit Kaur Sehgal along with Members of the Management.  There were various events in Athletics for Grade I-V boys & girls.   First position in Relay Race (Boys) was bagged by Guru Nanak Public School, Model Town and in Relay Race (Girls) was bagged by D.A.V. Public School, BRS Nagar. The winner in Heavenly Earth competition was Guru Nanak Public School, Model Town.  Proving their mettle in Indoor games, the first position in Spell Bee was clinched by B.C.M. Arya Model Sen. Sec. School, in Rack your Brain the winner was Guru Nanak International Public School, and B.C.M. Sen. Sec. School, Chandigarh Road bagged the first position in Peer Tutors and Rivers of Words. The Qawwali was the pique of the show and the winner was Guru Nanak International Public School. All the winners were beaming with enthusiasm about getting big wins against so many competitors. Everyone was waiting for next day for other events so as to grab overall winner trophy.

The event was diligently organized. There was a soul to it. A soul that was vibrant, contagious and exuberant.dsc_0091
